Reducing coupling for air conditioning and refrigeration

This reducing coupling, made of copper, connects pipes of different diameters in air conditioning and refrigeration installations. Designed for hard soldering, it provides a durable and tight connection resistant to high pressures. Its construction is based on the American standard ASME B 1.20.1 (NPT pipe threads), which guarantees compatibility with other installation elements made according to this standard.

Construction and application

The coupling allows connecting pipes with diameters of 2 1/8 inches and 5/8 inches. Made of copper, it is resistant to corrosion and mechanical damage, which translates to a long service life of the connection. It can be used with various refrigerants – HCFC, HFC, HFO and HC – with the exception of ammonia R717. The operating temperature range from -196°C to 150°C allows its use in a wide spectrum of conditions.

The coupling is designed for hard soldering using solders containing at least 2% silver, which further strengthens the durability and reliability of the connection.
