Optical signaling device for fire alarm systems
Visual alarm device (VAD) designed to work with conventional alarm systems. It meets the requirements of the EN 54-23 standard, which specifies illumination parameters at a level of 0,4 lux/m² throughout the operating area - this is crucial for effectively alerting hearing-impaired persons or those in noisy environments.
The housing is red and made of plastic. In this version, both the body and the flash are red - a classic solution used in most European countries for fire signaling.
Construction and energy-saving technologies
At the heart of the device is LED optics with a patented lens, which precisely distributes light in a controlled pattern. The manufacturer has used thick-wall molding techniques and an innovative cylindrical emission layout - this achieves the required illumination intensity with minimal current consumption.
The second generation of LX introduces soft-start technology - the device monitors the available voltage and eliminates the current peak during startup. This has practical significance: it allows for maximum utilization of the signaling line capacity without the risk of overload.
The advanced DFOP (Double Flash Overload Protection) function informs the installer about line overload via rapid double flashes - an innovative solution that facilitates system diagnostics.
Operating area and modes
The signaling device offers a coverage area of up to 7.5 m at a mounting height of up to 2.4 m - designation code W‑2.4‑7.5. This corresponds to a volume of 135 m³. For smaller rooms (e.g., toilets, bathrooms), the area can be switched to 2.5 m, which reduces power consumption by up to 50%.
The standard flash frequency is 1 Hz, but a switch allows it to be changed to 0.5 Hz - another option to reduce energy consumption by half without losing alarm effectiveness.
Status monitoring is performed via reverse polarity - a simple and reliable way to integrate with conventional control panels.
Operating parameters and installation
The operating voltage range of 9-60 V DC ensures compatibility with various alarm panels and flexibility during installation design. Current consumption ranges from 10-25 mA depending on settings - a minimum of just 10 mA is required, allowing more devices to be connected to a single circuit compared to traditional signaling devices.
The operating temperature from ‑25°C to +70°C enables use in both heated buildings and unheated technical rooms.
The shallow base provides an IP33C protection rating. The housing dimensions are 93 × 93 × 38 mm, and the weight is only 100 g - the compact form fits discreetly on corridor or lobby walls.
The tamper-proof base makes unauthorized removal of the device difficult - an important protection against tampering.
The device is part of the wider Solista LX range, offering various combinations of housing and light colors, as well as three types of bases (shallow, deep, U-type).
