Automatic balancing valve ASV-PV 5-25 kPa DN15, without insulation - 4TH GENERATION 003Z5501

Automatic balancing valve – precision and efficiency in heating systems

This automatic balancing valve ASV-PV, with a nominal diameter of DN15 and a regulation range of 5-25 kPa, is a key element for hydraulic balancing in two-pipe heating systems. Designed by Danfoss, it ensures optimal heat distribution, reduces noise and lowers energy consumption. This valve is particularly useful in systems where maintaining stable pressure is a challenge.

Construction and operating principle

ASV-PV is a combination of a differential pressure regulator mounted on the return pipe and an impulse tube connecting it to the supply line. This design enables precise control of the pressure difference in the vertical section of the installation. Working with preset valves on radiators (e.g. Danfoss RA-N or RA-UN), it creates a comprehensive system ensuring even heating even with variable load. The fourth generation of this valve is distinguished by innovative solutions that facilitate system installation and commissioning.

  • Integrated membrane: Combining the valve body with the membrane into one element ensures optimal performance at low flow and high sensitivity to changes in pressure difference.
  • Visible adjustment scale: Allows simple and intuitive adjustment of the pressure difference without the need for additional tools. The adjustment ring can be locked to prevent accidental changes to the settings.
  • Small height: Compact dimensions make it easy to install in tight spaces.
  • Possibility of flushing the installation: The valve can be temporarily locked in the open position, allowing effective flushing of the system before start-up – increasing its reliability.
  • Construction: Partially made of composite material, spring located outside the working medium – increases durability and corrosion resistance.

Application and benefits for the installer and user

The ASV-PV valve is used in residential, commercial and industrial buildings, wherever precise hydraulic balancing of the heating installation is required. It is ideal for both new and modernized systems.

  • For the installer: Quick installation thanks to compact dimensions and intuitive operation. The ability to easily flush the installation before start-up guarantees the correct operation of the system from the very beginning.
  • For the end user: Even heat distribution throughout the building, elimination of problems with underheated rooms and reduction of heating costs through system optimization. Quiet operation of the heating installation is an additional comfort of use.

The valve has internal metric threads (connection 1 and 2) and a pressure class of PN 16, ensuring compatibility with most standard heating installations. The Kvs value is 1.6 and the average continuous operating temperature is 120°C. The material is other (detailed information available from the manufacturer).

Partially made of composite, spring out of the medium, plastic impulse tube option
