Heating / domestic hot water switching valve for MCR/II 24 S / MCR 3 S S63113
Switching between heating and domestic hot water without additional valves
The S63113 switching valve is designed exclusively for use with De Dietrich MCR/II 24 S and MCR 3 S series boilers. It does not function as a standalone component—its role is to control water flow in a hybrid system where a single installation must serve both heating and domestic hot water preparation.
No actuator, no electronics. It operates mechanically based on a signal from the boiler controller. When the boiler calls for domestic hot water (DHW), the valve automatically redirects flow from the heating circuit to the heat exchanger coil. Once DHW demand ends, it returns to the heating position. Simple, maintenance-free, requiring no configuration.
Why does it work without issues?
This is not a universal three-way valve. It is a specific component—designed to match the hydraulic design of these particular boilers. It cannot be installed on other models, even if they have similar connection sizes. The connections are standard (G 1 1/4"), but the internal geometry and flow characteristics are precisely matched to the circuit parameters of the MCR/II 24 S and MCR 3 S.
The installer needs no adjustments—there are no flaps or settings. Simply connect according to the boiler manual's diagram. There is no risk of "blocking" the circuit, as there is no mechanism to stop flow—only a change in direction.
What does this mean in practice?
- No need for additional control—all operation is managed by the boiler's logic.
- No risk of leaks due to improper installation—the valve has no replaceable gaskets or moving parts beyond the internal mechanism.
- No need to purchase a separate actuator or control module.
- It cannot be "modified" for other applications—it is not a valve for zone systems or circulation pumps.
This component operates like other De Dietrich system parts: simply, without unnecessary complex electronics, yet precisely and reliably.
