Enclosure design and weather resistance

The TD-S/FI construction distribution board features a surface-mounted technopolymer enclosure - a material resistant to mechanical impact and corrosion. The front plate is gray RAL 7035 (practical for construction sites - it does not show fingerprints as easily as white), while the rear plate is black. The door is made of polycarbonate - a flexible material resistant to temperature changes.

The IP44 protection rating means protection against solid objects >1 mm and splashing water from any direction. Therefore, the distribution board performs well on open construction sites even in rainy weather. The EPDM rubber seal maintains flexibility across a wide temperature range - it does not harden in frost nor soften in heat. The mounting screws are made of stainless steel.

The enclosure dimensions with installed sockets are 360 × 250 × 185 mm, and the interior accommodates 12 modules on a single TH35 rail. A PG-16 cable gland for power supply cable entry and a set of mounting screws with caps are included.

Electrical equipment and protective apparatus

The heart of the distribution board is six Mennekes sockets (French system, plug with grounding pin) with parameters 230 V / 16 A / IP44 / 2P+E. Each socket comes from a recognized electrical equipment manufacturer - these are not budget substitutes.

Safety is ensured by:

• Residual Current Circuit Breaker (RCCB) Type A - SEZ with parameters 40 A / 30 mA / 2P. It protects against electric shock from leakage current (indirect contact protection) and detects AC leaks and pulsating DC currents - which is important when powering devices with rectifiers (e.g., power tools, chargers).
• Three miniature circuit breakers C16 / 1P / 10 kA (SEZ-KROMPACHY) - the C characteristic allows them to ignore short-term current spikes during motor startup (e.g., concrete mixer, welder), while simultaneously reacting to short circuits.
• Busbar single-phase, four-module, for conductors up to 10 mm², a complete set of caps is included.
• Wiring is made of H07V-K flexible cables:
  • 2,5 mm² yellow-green - protective conductor,
  • 2,5 mm² black - phase,
  • 2,5-4 mm² blue - neutral.

The rated current of the entire device is 40 A, voltage 230 V / 50 Hz AC, and the short-circuit breaking capacity ICC is ≤10 kA. The RDF coefficient = 0.9 indicates the load capacity during continuous operation.

Certificates and standards

The manufacturer declares the TÜV SÜD ISO 9001:2015 certificate confirming the quality management system. The distribution board complies with the standards: CE, CEI-23-48/49, IEC/EN/PN-EN/IEC/EN/PN-EN/IEC/EN/VDE.

CLIPFIX 35-5 end clamps stably hold the DIN rail even during transport or when moving the distribution board between workstations.

Practical applications

The TD-S/FI distribution board is effective as a temporary power distribution point during the shell construction stage and during finishing works:

• On construction sites - a foundation driver, concrete mixer, or welding generator can be connected simultaneously to six independent circuits.
• During roadworks - when a crew needs several sockets in one place without laying out an installation from scratch.
• In workshops and garages as a stationary power source with residual current protection.
• During self-build single-family house construction - especially when the target installation does not yet exist.
• In green areas and during outdoor events as a temporary energy distribution point.

The device is ready for connection - simply bring the power cable to the PG-16 gland and attach the plug.
