Temporary power supply on construction sites

The TD-S/FI distribution board is a ready-to-use distribution device designed for the temporary power supply of power tools, lighting, and machinery at sites under construction. Equipped with six single-phase sockets, it allows for the simultaneous connection of several receivers—such as a hammer drill, angle grinder, or work lamps—without the need to deploy additional extension cords and splitters.

The technopolymer housing provides resistance to mechanical impacts and the atmospheric conditions found on open construction sites. The front panel in RAL 7035 grey has an IP54 protection rating, protecting against dust and splashing water. The EPDM rubber seal maintains flexibility even at sub-zero temperatures, which is crucial for seasonal work. The housing dimensions of 360 × 250 × 185 mm allow the distribution board to be mounted on a pole, the wall of a temporary site hut, or directly onto formwork structures.

Electrical equipment and protections

The interior of the distribution board accommodates full modular equipment mounted on a DIN rail. Protection against electric shock is provided by a 40A / 30mA / 2P type A residual current device (RCD)—this device monitors the current difference between the phase and neutral conductors; if it exceeds the danger threshold (30 mA), it cuts the power in a fraction of a second. Each socket is additionally protected by a separate C16 / 1P / 10kA miniature circuit breaker (MCB), meaning that a fault in one receiver does not cause a power loss to the others.

Six 230V / 16A sockets in the Schuko (2P+E) standard provide grounding via the side contact of the plug; this is a commonly used type of single-phase socket in Western Europe.

Operating parameters and operating conditions

The distribution board operates at a voltage of 230V / 50Hz AC with a rated current of up to 40A. The maximum short-circuit breaking capacity (ICC) is ≤10 kA—the device can handle short-circuit currents typical for temporary construction site networks. An RDF coefficient of 0.9 indicates the load capacity during cyclic use; the distribution board can be loaded up to 90% of continuous power without overheating.

The wiring is made of H07V-K cable with a cross-section of 2,5-4 mm²—the flexible multi-strand conductor is easy to route in cable ducts and does not crack during repeated opening of the door. A PG-16 cable gland is included in the set, allowing for a tight seal when introducing the power supply cable.

The device meets the requirements of European standards: CE, CEI-23-48/49, IEC/EN 61009-1 (residual current device), and IEC/EN 61008-1 (miniature circuit breakers). The manufacturer has implemented a quality management system certified by TÜV SÜD.
