Portable electrical distribution board for construction sites

The WDD construction distribution board is a compact solution for temporary power supply in areas lacking permanent electrical infrastructure. A single Mennekes power socket allows for the connection of any three-phase device - from power tools to construction machinery. The entire unit is enclosed in a hermetic housing with dimensions 190×140×75 mm, which can be easily carried to any location.

Construction and equipment

The housing is made of an IP65-rated hermetic enclosure, providing full protection against dust and water jets - it is not afraid of rain or dust on the construction site. Inside, a red Mennekes Type 3451 socket with parameters 32A / 5P / 400V is installed, meeting industrial standards for power sockets. The ingress protection class of the socket itself is IP44 - protecting against objects >1 mm and water splashes from all directions.

Power disconnection is handled by an SEZ (Slovakia) cam switch - a three-phase 0-1 switch with a capacity of 40A / 500V. The lever with an S40 nameplate allows for quick, unambiguous voltage zeroing without fiddling inside the box. The manufacturer has also installed a PG-21 cable gland (Elektro-Plast) accommodating cables from ø13 to ø18 mm, IP68 class - providing solid anchoring for working lines.

Internal wiring comes from renowned electrical equipment suppliers - the entire unit is factory-assembled and ready for connection.

Operating parameters and environmental conditions

The rated current is 32 A, and the rated voltage is 230 / 400 V AC at a frequency of 50 Hz. An RDF simultaneity factor of 0.9 informs the designer that at full load, power draws close to the rated power can be expected - useful when calculating backup generators or power aggregators.

The housing is available in two standard colors: light grey RAL 7035 (suitable for facades) and black RAL 9005. Both are resistant to weather conditions typical for Polish outdoor projects.

Practical applications

The distribution board is effective everywhere a quick connection of three-phase devices is needed without a permanent connection:

• Construction sites and roadworks - powering concrete mixers, compressors, pumps,
• Industrial plants and production halls - temporary network expansion during renovations,
• Car workshops and garages - connecting lifts or welding machines,
• Outdoor events and green areas - energy distribution for stages, catering stands,
• **Self-build single-family houses.
