Comprehensive photovoltaic installation protection

The Doktorvolt PV distribution board provides full protection for the photovoltaic system - from the DC side (solar modules) to the AC circuits (inverter and grid). Equipped with an SEZ residual current circuit breaker with a rated current of 25A and a leakage detection sensitivity of 300mA, it protects against electric shock in the event of insulation failure. An SEZ Type S B16A circuit breaker with a breaking capacity of up to 10kA protects individual circuits against overloads and short circuits.

The manufacturer has implemented T1+T2 class surge protection devices on the AC side - two-stage protection means the ability to absorb lightning surges from both direct strikes (T1) and induction from the distribution grid (T2). The maximum peak current reaches 50kA, and the voltage protection level is below 1.5kV. On the DC side, the distribution board features dedicated surge protection devices operating at voltages up to 1060V DC - this is crucial for larger PV module strings. The T2 class on the DC side ensures the reduction of surges generated by the inverter itself during energy conversion.

Enclosure adapted to outdoor conditions

The IP65 protection rating indicates full enclosure tightness - dust cannot enter the interior, and water jets cannot penetrate even during direct spraying from a nozzle. The construction is based on technopolymer - a material resistant to mechanical impacts and UV radiation. The door is made of polycarbonate, which maintains transparency despite years of sun exposure. The grey RAL 7035 color is the standard shade used in electrical distribution boards across the continent.

The enclosure dimensions are 420 × 290 × 130 mm, which, with a module size corresponding to standard DIN enclosures, allows for the free arrangement of devices in two rows - providing a total of 24 modules at your disposal. The gasket made of EPDM rubber maintains flexibility even at negative temperatures - it does not harden like cheaper alternatives. Stainless steel screws eliminate the problem of thread corrosion during repeated opening.

Surface mounting allows for installation directly on the building facade or on the supporting structure of a photovoltaic farm. Cable glands (2× PG-21) allow for the introduction of solar cables with a cross-section of up to 6mm², which is the standard for PV strings.

Wiring and complete equipment

The interior of the distribution board is factory-wired with 6mm² solar cables - black and red for the DC poles. The yellow-green protective conductor is made of H07V-K flexible wire with a cross-section of up to 16mm², ensuring low grounding resistance even with large leakage currents. The neutral and auxiliary phase conductors have a cross-section of 4mm².

A complete set of MC4 connectors is included - 4 pieces (male and female). Each connector operates at a voltage of up to 1000V AC/DC, withstands an impulse voltage of 8kV, and offers an IP67 protection rating. MC4 connectors are an industry standard guaranteeing a tight connection between the modules and the string distribution board.

The manufacturer warns against using connectors from different manufacturers - European standards IEC62548 and IEC60364-7-712:2017 explicitly prohibit mixing DC connectors from different suppliers due to the risk of contact resistance and local overheating, which can lead to installation fires.

The distribution board complies with the requirements of the EU RoHS directive and holds CE certificates confirmed by notified bodies - both for the product itself (CEI23-48) and for the components used (residual current circuit breaker certified according to STN EN61008-1).
