Weather-resistant enclosure

The DC photovoltaic switchgear with a rated voltage of 1000V is enclosed in a technopolymer housing - a material resistant to UV radiation and corrosion, which does not degrade under the influence of sun or moisture during long years of operation on a roof or facade.

The IP65 protection rating ensures full dust tightness and resistance to water jets. The EPDM rubber gasket maintains flexibility across a wide temperature range, and the polycarbonate door is resistant to mechanical impacts. Stainless steel screws protect the entire unit against galvanic corrosion.

Dimensions of 142 × 210 × 100 mm (with cable glands and connectors: 142 × 240 × 100 mm) allow for comfortable surface mounting even in tight spaces - near the inverter or directly by the panel array. The RAL 7035 grey color blends well with typical installations. The enclosure accommodates 4 modules in one row.

DC surge protection

Circuit protection is provided by the STPT2-40K1000V-YPV surge protective device of class T2, which means the ability to absorb impulse surges generated by lightning discharges distant from the installation as well as switching surges originating from the inverter itself.

The maximum operating voltage is 1000V DC, while the continuous voltage Uc can reach 1060V DC. The test current In is 20 kA, and the maximum current Imax reaches up to 40 kA. The protection level Up is lower than 4.0 kV.

Wiring and MC4 solar connectors

The switchgear is factory-wired with 6 mm² solar cables (black and red) with a rated voltage of 0.6/1 kV. The 6 mm² cross-section is the standard for PV strings - sufficient for the operating currents of typical string installations without the need to split into multiple circuits.

A complete set of MC4 solar connectors is included:

• 2x female + 2x male factory-installed,
• an additional set of 2x female + 2x male as a reserve.

MC4 connectors operate at a voltage of 1000 V DC, withstand an impulse voltage of 8 kV, and have an IP67 protection rating. The manufacturer warns against using connectors from different manufacturers - IEC 62548 and IEC 60364-7712:2017 standards prohibit mixing DC connectors of different brands due to the risk of installation fire resulting from mismatched contact parameters.

Compliance with standards and certificates

The switchgear holds certificates of conformity: CE, EU directive RoHS, and the IEC 61439 construction standard. The surge protective device complies with EN/IEC 61643 standards. The manufacturer uses a management system certified by TÜV SÜD and operates according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard, which translates into the repeatable quality of every unit.
