Comprehensive photovoltaic installation protection

The Doktorvolt brand DC distribution board is a single-circuit solution designed for small and medium-sized photovoltaic installations. Intended for operation at voltages up to 1000V DC, it is suitable for both residential on-grid systems and commercial installations connected to string inverters. The device serves as a connection point for strings - enabling the safe assembly of DC cables running from the PV modules before they are fed into the inverter.

The surface-mounted enclosure with dimensions 142 × 210 × 100 mm (with glands 142 × 240 × 100 mm) fits a 4 module format on a single row. This allows the distribution board to take up little space on a building wall or mounting structure. The set includes PG cable glands - one PG-11 for the main cable and four PG-7 for connecting input strings.

Weather-resistant enclosure

The IP65 protection rating means full dust tightness and resistance to water jets from any direction. This is crucial for outdoor installations - the distribution board does not require an additional cover or installation in enclosed rooms.

The enclosure is made of technopolymer, which ensures high mechanical strength with relatively low mass. The door is made of polycarbonate - an impact-resistant and UV-resistant material, ensuring it does not become brittle over time due to sun exposure. The gray RAL 7035 color blends well with typical muted colors of facades and PV structures.

The EPDM rubber seal maintains flexibility across a wide temperature range - it does not harden in frost nor soften excessively during heatwaves. The mounting screws are made of stainless steel, so they do not require periodic maintenance or replacement even after years of exposure to moisture.

T1+T2 surge protective device

Surge protection is provided by a dedicated VAL-MS-T1/T2 1000DC-PV/2+V surge arrester (catalog number: 2801160). The T1+T2 classification provides a double safety barrier:

• Type T1 (Class B) - impulse current up to 15 kA, capable of absorbing energy from a direct lightning strike,
• Type T2 (Class C) - maximum current 40 kA, protection against atmospheric and switching surges generated by the inverter.

The voltage protection level is below 3.5 kV, which effectively reduces the risk of damage to the connected inverter. The maximum continuous operating voltage is 1050V DC, and the rated voltage is 1000V DC.

Arresters of this type are characterized by high durability and low leakage current, resulting in stable operation for years without the need for cartridge replacement.

Standards, certificates, and manufacturing quality

The distribution board meets the requirements of the EN 50539-11 standard, which specifies the conditions for using surge arresters in photovoltaic circuits. Production is carried out under a management system certified by TÜV SÜD and according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard. The design complies with the requirements of the EU RoHS directive (2011/65/EU) and holds the CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive.

The manufacturer also declares classification in the eCl@ss and ETIM commercial systems, facilitating the integration of product data into procurement and warehouse systems.
