WALLBOX wall-mounted charging station 11 kW Type 2 Doktorvolt 8706 DV-8706-EV
Compact AC station for home and property
The device is designed for the convenient charging of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids on private properties - in garages, on driveways, or in company parking lots. The station operates in Mode-3, meaning full communication between the charger and the car, allowing for safe and controlled energy replenishment.
Charging power ranges from 3.7-11 kW, which means it can be adapted to single-phase or three-phase installations. With three-phase power (400 V) and a rated current of 16 A, the device reaches a full 11 kW - sufficient to charge most EV batteries overnight or within a few hours.
The Type 2 socket, compliant with the IEC 62196-2 standard, ensures compatibility with European standards. It supports the most popular models from brands such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Volvo, or Tesla (requires a cable with a Type 2 plug on the vehicle side). The socket has no mechanical lock - the user connects and disconnects the cable manually.
Intelligent control and protections
Communication with the vehicle is handled by an intelligent charging controller. It monitors the process and automatically interrupts charging if an error is detected - e.g., overheating, a short circuit, or an incorrect signal from the car. This protects both the station and the vehicle's battery.
A START/STOP button with LED status signaling is located on the front panel. The LED pulses in different modes (ready / charging / error), informing the user of the current status without the need to use an application.
The station has built-in protections:
- Type A RCD - detects residual current leakage and cuts off the power,
- RCMU module - monitors leakage current during charging,
- C16A circuit breaker - protects against circuit overload.
The entire unit is housed in a UV-resistant plastic casing, which prevents yellowing and brittleness of the plastic even after years of sun exposure.
Housing and operating conditions
The station has dimensions of 355 × 255 × 125 mm (without the socket) and weighs just over a few kilograms - it is mounted directly to the wall using a mounting plate. The color scheme of the front panel is grey front / black back.
The IP54 protection rating means it is dust-tight and resistant to water splashes from any direction - making the station suitable for both enclosed garages and outdoors.
The operating temperature range is from -20 °C to +50 °C, so the device will perform well during both freezing winters and hot summers.
An inspection window for 12 modules allows access to the interior of the distribution board for any potential service work or installation expansion. The PG16 gland is used for the entry of the power supply cable.
Standards and certificates
Production takes place under the supervision of the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system. The device holds a certificate issued by TÜV SÜD, confirming compliance with European safety requirements. It also meets the following standards:
- CE - authorization for trade within the European Union,
- IEC 61439 - regarding low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies,
- EN 62196-2 - the standard for plugs and socket-outlets for EV charging.
The manufacturer is the Polish company Doktorvolt, based in Malichów (Opole Voivodeship), specializing in building switchgear and electrotechnical equipment for the EV sector.
