Dual-function emergency and escape lighting

The SafeLite luminaire stands out for its flexible applications - it functions both as auxiliary lighting (emergency) and as an escape sign. In the latter case, it utilizes the included pictograms compliant with the ISO7010 standard, which guide people to safe places using left, right, and down arrows. A sign recognition range of 20 meters ensures the luminaire meets the requirements for most public utility buildings - corridors, offices, warehouses, and industrial facilities.

The MNM (Maintained/Non-Maintained) operating mode means the possibility of continuous operation or exclusively in emergency mode - the installer selects the configuration during installation according to the installation project.

The polycarbonate housing in RAL9003 color provides mechanical durability confirmed by the IK04 impact resistance class. The IP42 degree of protection protects against solid bodies >1 mm and water droplets falling at an angle. The material's flammability test at 850°C (glow wire test) confirms the thermal resistance of the housing - crucial in the context of fire safety.

Operating parameters and power supply

The luminous flux in emergency mode reaches 100 lm, while during mains operation - 60 lm. The Ni-Cd battery with a voltage of 3,6 V and a capacity of 0,8 Ah provides a backup time of 1 hour. Power consumption is low: approximately 2,4 W in non-maintained mode and 2,5 W in maintained mode.

The 230 V AC (50/60 Hz) power supply is implemented via terminals allowing the connection of wires up to 2,5 mm². Protection class II (double insulation) eliminates the need for grounding - simplifying installation in modernized facilities.

The permissible ambient temperature range is from +5°C to +40°C, allowing for installation in both heated office rooms and partially heated technical zones.

Installation and accessories

The luminaire dimensions are 270 × 119 × 49 mm, and the weight is only 0,5 kg - the lightweight construction facilitates mounting to suspended ceilings and walls. The manufacturer offers a range of accessories to adapt the installation method:

• flush-mounted box for drywall (SL2RB) or masonry (SL2WB) walls - for an aesthetic finish at surface level,
• conical diffuser (SL2CD) - enables two-way light emission during flush mounting,
• directional plexi panels (SL2PPD, SL2PPDD, SL2PPLR) - an alternative to self-adhesive pictograms,
• protective mesh (SL2PG) - increases mechanical resistance to IK07 in impact-prone areas,
• milky diffuser (SL2OP) - diffuses light while maintaining a flux of approximately 95%,
• angle bracket (EL-BR1) - mounting at a 90° angle to the wall surface.

A set of three ISO7010 pictograms (left/right/down arrows) is included with the luminaire - there is no need to order them separately for a standard unidirectional installation.

Pictograms and standard requirements

Pictograms are made of white self-adhesive vinyl with a thickness of 100 μm, with UV-stabilized and blue-light-resistant printing. The luminance contrast between two different colors ranges from 5 to 15, meeting standard requirements for the legibility of safety signs under fire conditions.

The product is compliant with the RoHS directive (2011/65/EU) and is ENEC and IEC certified - documentation available on the manufacturer's website includes the declaration of conformity and test reports for international markets.
