The SPPVRT2-15-2+PE surge protective device is an advanced protective device for photovoltaic installations on the DC side. Specifically designed for PV systems with voltages up to 1500V, it protects solar panels, inverters, and other installation components from harmful voltage spikes.

Construction and protection technology

The device utilizes varistor technology, which ensures a rapid response in the event of a dangerous voltage increase in the installation. The varistor module protects against the impact of direct and indirect surges, effectively diverting the surge current to the ground.

Protection level is 4.8 kV

which guarantees effective protection even during strong surges. The short-circuit strength reaches 9 kA, and the maximum discharge current is 40 kA (with a rated current of 20 kA for an 8/20 μs wave).

Operating parameters and compatibility

The limiter operates in temperatures from -40°C to +85°C, enabling installation in various environmental conditions. The IP20 protection rating ensures safe installation inside electrical distribution boards.

allowing for application in larger photovoltaic farms and commercial installations. The device is intended for DC configuration systems and can be used in both grounded and ungrounded PV installations.

Mounting and operation

Mounting is performed on a TH-35 mm DIN rail in a standard electrical distribution board. Compact dimensions (3 modules) allow for space savings in the distribution board.

Wire cross-sections

flexible up to 25 mm², single-core/multi-core up to 35 mm². The terminals are appropriately marked - supply wires are connected from the top, and the protective conductor from the bottom.

Signaling and service

The device is equipped with an optical status indicator: green indicates a functional module, red informs of the need for replacement. This function enables quick monitoring of the device status without the need for disassembly.

In case of damage, it is only necessary to replace the module, not the entire apparatus - this significantly reduces servicing costs and shortens repair time.

The limiter meets the requirements of the latest IEC 61643-31:2018 standard, confirming its high quality and safety of use. The product has the CE certificate and complies with the RoHS directive.
