The threaded pin, made of galvanized steel, provides a solid connection to the device structure. This makes the foot resistant to corrosion and mechanical damage. The AS version also has an NBR rubber pad with a hardness of 70A on the Shore scale, which increases adhesion to the ground and reduces vibrations.
