Application and operating conditions

Cable YKY 2x1.5 is intended for permanent installation in power installations – both inside buildings and outdoors. It can be laid in cable trays, ducts or directly in the ground. It is not suitable as a flexible installation cable for moving connections. Operating temperature after installation is from -30 °C to +70 °C. During installation the ambient temperature must not be lower than -5 °C.

Construction and materials

The conductors are made of single‑strand copper (class 1), cross‑section 1.5 mm², twisted and insulated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The outer sheath is also PVC – black, with an approximate diameter of 9.2 mm. Absence of a shield, armor and a grounding conductor means this is a simple two‑core cable – it does not provide protection against electromagnetic interference nor fault protection to earth. It is not oil‑resistant and has no additional protective barrier.

Fire resistance

The cable meets fire reaction class Eca according to EN 13501-6 – meaning it does not support flame spread. No information is provided on smoke emission or acidity.

Installation and limitations

The minimum permissible bending radius in fixed installations is 110.4 mm. Do not exceed this limit when routing the cable – damage to the insulation may lead to failure. This value applies to already installed cable; during installation care must be taken when bending, especially at temperatures below -5 °C.
