Power cable YKYFty 0.6/1 kV 2x4 RE – reliability and safety in every installation
The YKYFty 2x4 is a robust power cable designed for energy transmission in electrical installations. It features high resistance to mechanical damage and external factors, making it an ideal choice for both professional installers and end users. The reinforced tape construction provides additional protection against mechanical loads.
Construction and application
The YKYFty cable is a buried-type cable, also designated as YKY-HFt. It consists of two copper conductors with a cross-section of 4 mm², insulated with polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The conductors are twisted, enhancing cable flexibility and simplifying installation. Additionally, the cable features an outer PVC sheath that protects it against moisture, UV radiation, and other atmospheric conditions. It is intended for use in electrical energy distribution systems, both indoors and outdoors – underground or within protective conduits. Thanks to its rated voltage of 0.6/1 kV, it can be used in low- and medium-voltage networks.
Key features and benefits
- Durable construction: Reinforcing tape ensures high resistance to mechanical damage during laying and operation.
- Flexibility: Twisted conductors facilitate cable installation, especially in confined spaces or complex routing paths.
- Resistance to environmental conditions: The outer PVC sheath protects the cable against moisture, UV radiation, and other external factors.
- Safety: PVC insulation provides effective protection against electric shock.
- Versatility: Suitable for both fixed and portable installations.
- Copper conductors: Ensure excellent electrical conductivity and minimize energy losses.
- Color-coded identification: Simplifies correct conductor connection during installation.
- Fire reaction class Eca: Ensures limited flammability in case of fire – critical for installation safety.
Operational parameters
The minimum bending radius for fixed installations is 189.6 mm, which must be considered when designing the cable route. The maximum allowable conductor temperature is 70°C, and the permissible ambient temperature during installation is -5°C to +5°C (avoid installation in extremely low temperatures). The approximate outer diameter of the cable is 15.8 mm. Note the conductor class – Class 1 indicates a single-wire conductor, which affects the method of terminal crimping.
