Braided conductors with insulation – reliability and flexibility in electrical installations

IBSB ADVANCED insulated braids are ready-to-use grounding conductors, serving as an alternative to traditional cables. They eliminate the need for time-consuming cutting, stripping and crimping, which translates into time and cost savings for both the installer and the user. The product is designed to work with automatic circuit breakers and is characterized by a wide operating range – from 80A to 630A.

Construction and materials

The braid is made of tinned copper, which ensures excellent electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. Flexible stranded wires (class 5) with a cross-section of 70 mm² guarantee flexibility and easy installation, even in tight spaces. The flat shape of the conductor facilitates cable routing and aesthetic arrangement in the switchgear cabinet. Additionally, the cable has a perforated grounding connector and a connection strip, simplifying connection to the installation.

Safety and insulation properties

The insulation made of a thermoplastic halogen-free, low-smoke and flame-retardant material (UL 94 VO) ensures a high level of safety. Vinyl compound with high dielectric strength (20 kV/mm) and maximum operating temperature of 105°C guarantees reliable operation in various environmental conditions. Thanks to these properties, the braid minimizes the risk of short circuit and fire, protecting both the installation and the people using it. Additionally, the insulation is characterized by high elongation (370%) which increases its mechanical strength.
