Valves for fan coil units – precise flow control

ESBE VLG100 mushroom valves are a reliable solution for controlling the flow of heating or cooling medium in heating, air conditioning and, above all, fan coil unit installations. Their compact design facilitates installation even in tight spaces, for example directly on exchanger connections. The valve design allows easy connection to ESBE ALG400 electric actuators using a threaded ring nut – simple and quick to install.

The VLG122 valve, made of dezincification-resistant brass (DZR), is characterized by high durability and corrosion resistance. The use of brass also ensures good thermal conductivity. The PN 16 pressure class guarantees safe operation in typical heating installations. BSPP threaded connections with a diameter of 1/2 inch (DN 15) ensure tightness and compatibility with most standard installation elements.

Characteristics and application

The VLG122 valve with a Kvs value of 0.4 is an ideal choice for systems requiring precise flow control. The linear flow characteristic ensures proportional flow change depending on the actuator position. This allows for accurate adjustment of the fan coil unit's performance to the current thermal needs of the room. The maximum differential pressure in the open position is 3 bar, which allows the valve to be used in installations with different working pressures. Leakage at 0% guarantees no leaks and maintains stable system operating parameters.

ESBE VLG100 valves are available in 2-way, 3-way and 3-way with bypass versions, allowing them to be adapted to different installation schemes. In the version without an actuator, the valve is normally closed (NC), which means the mushroom blocks the flow in the upper position. Connecting to an ESBE ALG400 actuator also results in normally closed operation.

Construction and technical parameters

The valve design has been designed with ease of installation and servicing in mind. Compact dimensions (connection length 1: 26 mm, connection length 2: 23 mm, stroke length: 2.5 mm) allow installation even in hard-to-reach places. The materials used in production – brass CW617N (body), PPS GF50% (stem) and EPDM (seals) – ensure high quality and durability of the device. The valve meets the requirements of the PED 2014/68/EU article 4.3 standard, which confirms its safety and reliability.
