Thermal fuse with time‑delay characteristic, intended for protection of circuits with high inrush current
The fuse is designed for use in AC‑powered installations with a rated voltage up to 800 V. Its gG characteristic means it provides both short‑circuit and overload protection — ideal for safeguarding lines with motors, transformers or other loads that generate brief current spikes on start‑up.
The time‑delay characteristic prevents unnecessary tripping on impulsive loads — e.g., when starting pumps, fans or inverters in photovoltaic systems. It does not react instantly to short current pulses, which enhances the stability of the installation.
The operating indicator is combined (dual) — after tripping it shows both visually (a popping element) and by a pole position change. This facilitates quick fault diagnosis without disassembly.
The protection complies with IEC 60269, and its making capacity is 60 kA — meaning the fuse can safely interrupt very high fault currents typical of large industrial or PV installations.
The construction lacks metal insulated clips (IMGL), so it must be mounted in an appropriate holder or protective block that provides isolation and safe access. The NH3 size guarantees compatibility with most standard holders of this type on the market.
No special tools are required for installation — a standard NH3 holder is sufficient. Installation is simple but requires de‑energising the circuit before replacement. In case of tripping, investigate the cause of the fault — the device is not a “replace‑by‑eye” component.
