Reliable medium voltage protection
Fuse link VVT-D3 12kV/2A is an element designed to protect medium voltage (MV) electrical and power equipment against the effects of short circuits and overloads. It is used to protect cables, transformers, motors and capacitor banks. The construction based on proven technology ensures reliable operation and effective installation protection.
Characteristics and application
Fuse links of the VV series, including the VVT-D3 model, are characterized by a high short-circuit breaking capacity – up to 63 kA. They are equipped with a thermal trigger that activates the breaker with a force of 80N when the permissible temperature of the housing is exceeded (approx. 120°C). This solution is particularly important in SF6 gas switchgear, where unnecessary operation on short-term current surges is avoided. The fuse link reacts to temperature increase regardless of the heat source, which increases the safety and reliability of the system. The rated current of the fuse link is 2A at a rated voltage of AC 6/12kV and a frequency of 50/60Hz.
Advantages and benefits
- High short-circuit breaking capacity (63 kA): ensures effective protection against serious damage to the installation in the event of a short circuit.
- Thermal trigger: protects against the effects of long-term overload and overheating, activating the breaker only when the critical temperature is reached.
- Reliable sealing system: protects against moisture, which extends the life of the fuse link and ensures stable operating parameters.
- Durable construction: high-strength ceramic tube and galvanically protected contacts guarantee long-lasting and trouble-free operation.
- Easy replacement: improved contact cap facilitates and speeds up the replacement process during maintenance or repair.
- Silver fuse element: provides optimal electrical conductivity and precise operation in the event of overload or short circuit.
- Wide range of applications: ideal for protecting various MV devices, such as transformers, motors or cables.
- Technical reports from KEMA Labs tests: confirm compliance with safety standards and high product quality.
Additional information regarding the selection of fuse links for specific applications can be found in the tables available on the manufacturer's website and in the ETIsON Curves program, which allows analysis of protection selectivity and generation of t/I characteristics.
