Medium Voltage VV Fuse Links – Reliable Installation Protection
VV series fuse links are a proven protective element for electrical and power equipment in medium voltage (MV) systems. Designed to protect cables, conductors, transformers, motors, and capacitor banks from the effects of short circuits and overloads. The VVT-D3 variant, equipped with a thermal trigger, provides additional protection against uncontrolled temperature increases.
The VVT-D3 12kV/32A fuse link is a component dedicated to systems with a rated voltage of 12kV and a rated current of 32A. A breaking capacity of 63kA guarantees effective circuit interruption in the event of a high-current short circuit. Equipped with a striker with a force of 80N, it provides quick indication of operation and enables effective tripping of fuse disconnectors.
Design and Application
VVT-D3 fuse links have a built-in thermal trigger that activates the striker when the fuse body reaches approximately 120°C – regardless of the cause of the temperature increase. This solution is particularly recommended for use in switchgear with SF6 gas. The solid construction with a high-strength ceramic tube and galvanically protected contacts ensure long-lasting and reliable operation. The fuse element made of silver further increases current conduction efficiency.
Advantages and Benefits
- High Reliability: Confirmed by technical reports from type tests conducted by KEMA Labs.
- Thermal Protection: The thermal trigger protects against the effects of overheating, increasing installation safety.
- Fast Indication: The 80N striker provides clear information about fuse operation.
- Environmental Resistance: A reliable sealing system protects against moisture.
- Easy Replacement: Improved contact cap facilitates and speeds up the fuse replacement process.
- High Breaking Capacity: A breaking capacity of 63kA provides effective protection against the effects of high-current short circuits.
- Versatility: Can be used with fuse bases with or without an operation indicator (microswitch).
