Reliable medium voltage protection
The VVT-D3 24kV/100A fuse link is a proven protective element for medium voltage (MV) electrical and power equipment. It is designed to protect cables, transformers, motors and capacitor banks from the effects of short circuits and overloads. The construction with a thermal trigger provides additional protection against uncontrolled temperature increases, which is particularly important in SF6 gas switchgear.
Design and operating principle
The VVT-D3 fuse link is characterized by the presence of a thermal trigger. Its operation activates a striker with a force of 80N when the temperature of the fuse link body reaches approximately 120°C – regardless of the heat source. This mechanism ensures a quick and reliable response to the hazard, minimizing the risk of damage. The striker indicates the operation of the fuse link, which facilitates problem identification and quick replacement.
Key parameters and application
This fuse link has a rated current of 100A and a rated voltage of 10/24kV at a frequency of 50/60Hz. Its breaking capacity is as high as 63kA, guaranteeing effective circuit interruption in the event of a high-energy short circuit. Additionally, the cold resistance is 12.9 mΩ and the power loss is 220W. The minimum I²t pre-arc value is 35000 A²s, and the maximum I²t max is 202000 A²s. The fuse link has a diameter of 83.5 mm and a length of 442 mm, and its weight is approximately 5.8 kg.
The application of VVT-D3 fuse links is wide-ranging – it covers both industrial and power installations. Thanks to their high reliability and precise operation, they are an optimal solution for demanding applications. The use of elements made of electrolytic copper coated with nickel and a silver fuse element ensures high durability and corrosion resistance. A reliable sealing system protects against moisture, which increases the service life of the fuse link even in harsh environmental conditions.
