Fuse link with striker VVT-D3 24kV/125A 004252018
Reliable medium voltage protection
The VVT-D3 24kV/125A fuse link is an element designed to protect medium voltage (MV) electrical and power equipment against the effects of short circuits and overloads. Using a fuse link guarantees the safety of wires, cables, transformers, motors, and capacitor banks. The design with a thermal trigger provides additional protection against uncontrolled temperature increases.
Construction and application
VV fuse links, and particularly the VVT-D3 model, are characterized by the presence of a thermal trigger. Its operation activates a striker with a force of 80N when the temperature of the fuse link body reaches approx. 120°C – regardless of the heat source. This solution is particularly recommended for use in SF6 gas switchgear, where a quick reaction to temperature is crucial. The striker signals the operation of the fuse link and activates the tripping mechanism of the power circuit breakers.
The rated current of 125A and voltage of 24kV make it a universal solution for various MV installations. The breaking capacity at 63kA ensures effective circuit interruption in the event of a short circuit with high current. Additionally, the cold resistance of 11.9 mΩ minimizes power losses during normal operation (317W).
Key features and benefits
- Thermal trigger: Provides independent-of-current operation in case of overheating, protecting against damage caused by prolonged overload.
- High breaking capacity (63kA): Guarantees effective circuit interruption in the event of high-current short circuits, minimizing the risk of damage to installations and equipment.
- Reliable sealing system: Protects against moisture, which extends the life of the fuse link and ensures stable operation in harsh environmental conditions.
- Solid construction: High-strength ceramic tube and galvanically protected contacts ensure durability and resistance to mechanical damage.
- Easy replacement: Improved contact cap facilitates and speeds up the replacement process during maintenance or repair of the installation.
- Silver fuse element: Provides optimal conductivity and reliable operation of the fuse link.
- Technical reports from KEMA Labs tests: Confirm compliance with safety standards and high product quality.
- Minimum breaking current I₃: is 473A - an important parameter when selecting appropriate protection for a given installation.
