Medium Voltage VV Fuse Links – Reliable Installation Protection

VV fuse links are a proven protection element in medium voltage networks. Designed to protect electrical and power equipment MV (cables, conductors, transformers, motors, capacitor banks) against the effects of short circuits and overloads. Construction and principle of operation

VVT-D3 fuse links have a thermal trigger that activates the striker with a force of 80N when the fuse body reaches approximately 120°C – regardless of the cause of the temperature increase. This design is particularly recommended for use in switchgear with SF6 gas. The striker signals the operation of the fuse link and activates the tripping mechanism of the fuse disconnectors. The use of high-quality materials, such as a high-strength ceramic tube and contacts protected galvanically and coated with nickel, guarantees reliable operation and long life.

The VVT-D3 fuse link with a rated current of 31.5A and a rated voltage of 24kV (at a frequency of 50/60Hz) is characterized by a breaking capacity of 63kA. The cold resistance is 52 mΩ, and the power loss is 75W. The minimum pre-arcing integral I²t min is 1400 A²s, and the maximum switching integral I²t max is 15000 A²s. The diameter of the fuse link is 53mm, and the length is 442mm. The weight of a single piece is approximately 2.3 kg.
