The VVT-D3 24kV/40A fuse link is an element designed to protect medium voltage (MV) electrical and power equipment against the effects of overloads and short circuits. It is suitable for protecting cables, transformers, motors and capacitor banks. The design with an 80N striker not only provides effective protection, but also visual indication of operation.
Construction and operating principle
Fuse links from the VV series, and in particular the VVT-D3 model, are characterized by the presence of a thermal trigger. This solution allows reaction not only to sudden current surges, but also to the gradual increase in temperature inside the fuse link. The trigger activates the striker (80N force) when the housing temperature reaches approximately 120°C – regardless of the heat source. This design is particularly recommended for use in switchgear with SF6 gas. Additionally, the fuse link has a reliable sealing system protecting against moisture and a high-strength ceramic tube. Galvanically protected contacts made of electrolytic copper coated with nickel ensure a durable connection and minimize the risk of corrosion.
