VVT-D3 24kV/50A fuse link is an element designed to protect medium voltage (MV) electrical and power equipment against the effects of short circuits and overloads. It is used to protect cables, transformers, motors and capacitor banks. The design of the fuse link, including the thermal trigger, provides protection not only against sudden current surges but also against long-term overheating of the installation.

Characteristics and application

The VVT-D3 fuse link is equipped with a thermal trigger that activates the striker with a force of 80N when the body of the fuse link reaches a temperature of approximately 120°C. This solution ensures that the fuse link reacts to temperature increases regardless of the heat source, which is particularly important in switchgear with SF6 gas. The breaking capacity of 63 kA guarantees effective interruption of the short-circuit current. The rated current of the fuse link is 50A at a rated voltage of AC 10/24kV and a frequency of 50/60Hz. The cold resistance is 29 mΩ, and the power loss reaches 110W.
