VVT-D3 24kV/63A fuse link is an element designed to protect medium voltage (MV) electrical and power equipment against the effects of short circuits and overloads. Using a fuse link guarantees the safety of wires, cables, transformers, motors and capacitor banks. The construction based on proven technology provides effective protection against both thermal and dynamic fault currents.

Characteristics and application

Fuse links from the VV series, and in particular the VVT-D3 model, are characterized by the presence of a thermal trigger. This solution allows reaction not only to sudden current surges, but also to a gradual temperature increase inside the fuse link – which is particularly important in the case of loads with a long-term overload character. The trigger activates a striker with a force of 80N when the body of the fuse link reaches a temperature of approximately 120°C, regardless of the source of heat. This design makes the fuse link perfect for switchgear with SF6 gas.

It is worth noting the high short-circuit interrupting capacity, amounting to 63kA, which ensures effective protection even in the event of serious failures. In addition, the use of a high-strength ceramic tube and galvanically protected contacts translates into a long service life and reliability of the device.
