This replaceable module is designed for type 1 and 2 surge protectors (class B, C) in photovoltaic systems. It provides effective protection against the effects of lightning strikes and surges in the PV installation, which translates to a longer lifespan of components and safety of use. It is a key element protecting inverters, solar panels and other system components.

Construction features and application

The M T12 PV 750/6,25 S module uses varistor technology, which ensures a fast and effective response to surges. Designed to operate with direct current (DC), it is used to protect photovoltaic installations with a voltage of up to 750V. The modular design makes it easy to replace a damaged element without having to disassemble the entire surge protector – this saves time and costs for both the installer and the user. Optical signaling informs about the device's operation, allowing for quick problem identification.

Performance and parameters

The module is characterized by high discharge parameters: the impulse current Iimp (10/350μs) is 6.25kA per pole, and the maximum discharge current Imax (8/20μs) is as high as 60kA. The rated current In (8/20μs) is 20kA. Thanks to this, it provides solid protection against the effects of even strong lightning strikes. The degree of protection IP20 indicates protection against touching with fingers and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm – important in the context of safety of use. Mounting is done on a base, and the compact dimensions (1 module) allow for easy integration with existing infrastructure. The weight of a single module is only 0.13 kg, which facilitates its transport and installation.
