The TI-500-5 current transformer is a professional measuring instrument designed for the proportional reduction of high current intensities to lower values suitable for the measuring ranges of control and monitoring devices. This model is characterized by a high accuracy class of 0,5, ensuring precise measurements in industrial and energy applications.

Construction and electrical parameters

The device is designed as a single-phase transformer with a closed core, which guarantees stable operation and minimizes magnetic losses. The ratio is Ip/Is = 500/5, meaning that at a primary current of 500 A, a standard secondary current of 5 A is obtained.

The transformer operates at a frequency of 50÷60 Hz and can be used in installations with a maximum voltage of 0,66 kV AC. The insulation breakdown voltage is 3 kV for 1 minute, ensuring safe operation in industrial conditions.

Mechanical parameters and dimensions

The TI-500-5 model has a through diameter of Ø22 mm, allowing for installation on busbars or conductors with an appropriate cross-section. The overall dimensions of the device are 61 mm × 81 mm × 34 mm (width × height × depth).

The device weighs approximately 0,235 kg, which facilitates installation and does not excessively load the installation. The operating temperature ranges from -5°C to +40°C, enabling use in most environmental conditions.

Installation and electrical connections

The transformer can be mounted both vertically and horizontally, providing installation flexibility in various types of switchgear and electrical panels. It can be mounted directly on a panel or busbar.

Secondary connections are made via S1/S2 screw terminals with a maximum wire cross-section of 4 mm². The tightening torque for the terminals should be 0,5 Nm. The device has one primary input.

Safety and regulatory compliance

The TI-500-5 model meets the requirements of the IEC 60044-1 standard and has an IP20 protection rating, protecting against finger contact and access to hazardous parts with a wire.

The safety factor is FS < 5, and the device is equipped with touch protection in accordance with ETIM requirements. The secondary circuit connection is made as a screw connection for easy service installation.
