Control module for gas detection systems

This module, designed to work with GAZEX detectors, is a key element of the Digital Gas Detection System. It enables the integration of one threshold or measurement detector with the digital RS-485 bus, operating in the MODBUS RTU standard. It is an indispensable solution for both installers and end-users, providing precise and reliable gas concentration monitoring.

Functionality and application

The MDD-1/T module acts as an interface between the detector and the central system. It allows assigning three alarm levels (A1, A2, A3) configurable by the user to a measurement detector, and two alarm levels (A1 and A2) to a threshold detector. This makes the system flexible and adapts to the specific requirements of a given installation. The module also enables calculating average concentrations of toxic gases and selecting measurement units. Five operating modes – including memory mode, alarm hold mode, and service mode – provide full control over system operation.

Optical (LED) and acoustic (built-in siren) signaling informs about the signal value, alarm and emergency states of the detector, and the states of the control outputs. The module stores the 200 latest events with start and end times, which facilitates the analysis of historical data. 12V= alarm outputs control additional signaling devices, and relay outputs allow integration with other building or plant automation systems.

Construction and mounting

The MDD-1/T module is mounted on a standard TS35 rail. It has removable, screwless terminals that accept both solid and stranded wires (cables), which greatly simplifies and speeds up installation and maintenance. The housing made of durable ABS/PC provides mechanical strength and tightness. Configuration of settings is done using dedicated "DETnet View" software, available on the manufacturer's website. The module is powered by 24V=. Its compact dimensions (106 x 90 x 65 mm) allow for easy adaptation to existing infrastructure.
