Connection module for gas detection systems

This MDD-N1 control module is designed to integrate external, two-threshold gas detection systems with the GAZEX Digital Gas Detection System (DGDS). It allows expanding the system's functionality with additional sensors and increases configuration flexibility. The module processes alarm signals from two thresholds and a fault signal, transmitting them to the MDD-256/T supervisory module.

Functionality and application

MDD-N1 offers three volt-free inputs that can be used to connect the outputs of an external system or 12V= alarm outputs. This makes it possible to connect various devices and adapt the system to specific needs. The module occupies one address in the detector address space, simplifying management and configuration of the entire system. Communication is via an RS-485 port with the MODBUS RTU protocol, which is galvanically isolated to ensure data transmission safety and reliability.

Installation and configuration comfort

The MDD-N1 module has been designed with the convenience of installers and users in mind. The input terminals allow connection of stranded wires without the need for crimping ferrules – this significantly speeds up installation and facilitates maintenance. All terminals are screwless and removable. Module testing is carried out "non-contact", magnetically, without the need to open the housing, which further increases ease of use. Configuration of settings can be performed using the MDD-256/T supervisory module or dedicated configuration software "DETnet View", available on the manufacturer's website. The module housing is sealed (IP54) and resistant to mechanical damage, ensuring its durability even in harsh working conditions. The 24V= power supply is from the bus with a single FTP cable.
