Control module for gas detection systems

This control module, designed to work with GAZEX gas detectors, is a key element of monitoring and alarm systems. It enables precise control of the detector's status, alarm signaling, and control of safety devices. It is a reliable solution for both local detection systems and distributed industrial installations.

Functionality and application

The MDP-1.A/T module works with one measuring or dual-threshold gas detector (DEX/P, DG/P, DEX/F, DG/F or DG.EN type). Its task is to ensure proper power supply to the detector and continuous monitoring of signals from it. In the event of exceeding the set gas concentration thresholds, the module activates optical signaling and activates voltage alarm and switching outputs. This allows for a quick response to the threat and minimization of risk.

• Industrial safety: protection of equipment and production processes against hazardous gas concentrations.
• Distributed systems: building complex gas monitoring installations over large areas.
• Connection control: the module checks the status of the wired connection to the detector, signaling any breaks in the circuit.
• Alarm threshold configuration: the ability to set alarm threshold values directly on the module using the keyboard on the front panel – including “window” detection configuration.

Construction and mounting

The MDP-1.A/T module has been designed for easy installation and integration with existing electrical installations.

• Mounting on TS35 rail: standard mounting on a TS35 rail in electrical switchboards ensures stability and ease of installation.
• Screwless terminals: removable screwless terminals allow connection of wires without the need for tools, accepting both stranded and solid core wires (without ferrules).
• LED signaling: LEDs indicate the power supply status, the status of control outputs and any detector failures.
• Alarm outputs: has two 12V= voltage alarm outputs for powering acoustic and optical signaling devices and three switching outputs (galvanically isolated) for controlling fans, contactors or information boards.
• Expansion options: possibility to order a version with a 4-20mA or 2-10V analog output and an RS-485 port with MODBUS RTU protocol for integration with building or industrial automation systems.

Thanks to its compact dimensions (106 x 90 x 65 mm), the module can be easily placed in the limited space of an electrical switchboard. 12V= power supply is indicated by an LED lamp, which facilitates device diagnostics.
