Gas detection module MS-15.EG-EN GAZEX Propane-butane (LPG)

MS-15.EG-EN Sensory Module – Calibration Without Detector Disassembly

The MS-15.EG-EN module is a replaceable sensory element designed for LPG gas detectors, operating on the basis of a semiconductor sensor. It is engineered to allow easy replacement or calibration without the need to disassemble the entire detector from the installation – significantly reducing service time and lowering system maintenance costs.

The internal processor records the sensor's operational history: number of alarms, duration of alarm states, measurement range exceedances, and any errors. This enables the installer to analyze the detector's actual operating conditions – for example, whether the sensor operated in an environment with excessive humidity or was exposed to frequent short-term exceedances of the alarm threshold. Based on this data, decisions can be made regarding the necessity of replacing the module with another type, e.g., when changing technology within the facility.

The module operates in conjunction with DG-15.EN and DG-15.EN/M detectors, and its calibration parameters are set to a range of 10/20/30% LEL for propane-butane (LPG). No specialized tools are required for replacement – simply disconnect the screwless terminals and remove the module from the housing.

Construction and Compatibility

The module has no separate housing – it is an internal component of the detector. Its compatibility is limited exclusively to the GAZEX DG-15.EN and DG-15.EN/M series. It cannot operate independently – it must be installed within a compatible detector.

A key advantage is its replaceability without interrupting system operation. If the type of gas or environmental conditions change at the facility (e.g., introduction of a new production line), there is no need to replace the entire detection system – only this single module needs to be swapped for one suitable for the new substance (e.g., methane, CO). This solution saves both time and money.

The module's dimensions are not specified separately, but the complete detector unit (including the module) measures 82 x 95 x 68 mm. The module is part of this housing and has no independent dimensions separate from the detector.

Who Is This Solution For?

For the installer:
– Facilitates service and calibration without requiring shutdown of the gas installation.
– Eliminates the need to reconfigure the entire system when changing gas type.
– Enables collection of diagnostic data on sensor performance – aiding in maintenance planning.

For the end user:
– The system remains active during service – no interruptions in protection.
– Extended lifespan of the entire detection installation due to easy sensor updates.
– Lower long-term maintenance costs – no need to purchase new detectors when technological changes occur.
