Gas detection module MS-4E/N GAZEX Ammonia, 1000 ppm
The MS-4E/N sensory module is a replaceable ammonia (NH₃) detection element with an electrochemical sensor, designed for installation in GAZEX DG-4E/N and DEX-4E/N detectors. It features a built-in processor that stores sensor operation data—including the number of alarms, duration of fault conditions, and measurement range exceedances. This information enables analysis of the detector's operational history without the need to disassemble the entire device.
Module calibration or replacement is performed without disassembling the detector—simply remove the MS-4E/N and replace it with a new, pre-calibrated unit. This solution reduces service costs and minimizes downtime, especially in systems with multiple monitoring points. The module requires no additional calibration after installation; parameters are stored and automatically read by the detector.
The module's measurement range is 300–1000 ppm, with default alarm thresholds set at 500 ppm (A1) and 800 ppm (A2). In certain versions (e.g., MS-4E/N-X), the thresholds are fixed at 500/800 ppm without the lower limit of 300 ppm—this difference results from production configuration, while the underlying sensor technology remains unchanged. The value of 800 ppm is set as both thresholds, meaning that upon exceeding 500 ppm, the first alarm signal is activated, and upon reaching 800 ppm, the second signal is triggered.
The module has no independent power supply or communication interface. Optical signaling and RS-485 communication are functions of the detector (DG-4E/N or DEX-4E/N), not the sensory module. The MS-4E/N operates solely as a replaceable sensor block with memory, providing data to the detector, which processes and signals it.
It is compatible with DG/F and DEX/F detectors and can be installed in both standard and explosion-proof (DEX) systems. It is not suitable for use in hazardous areas independently—only as part of a detector with appropriate ATEX classification. Its intended application is industrial facilities with refrigeration systems or processes utilizing ammonia, where precise and easily maintainable detection is required.
