Gas detector DD-8R/AP
Carbon dioxide detector – protection and air quality control
The DD-8R/AP gas detector is a reliable device designed for continuous monitoring of carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration in enclosed spaces. It utilizes advanced optical infrared (IR) sensor technology, ensuring precise and stable measurements. The detector is ideal for integration with burglar alarm systems, offering an additional layer of security and user comfort.
Functionality and application
The device cyclically measures the CO2 level in the surrounding air. If defined alarm thresholds are exceeded (800/1400/1800 ppm), both optical and acoustic signaling are activated, and simultaneously the status of the contact output changes – information about the hazard is transmitted to the alarm control panel. Therefore, the DD-8R/AP detector is suitable for a wide range of applications:
- Residential buildings: kitchens with tankless water heaters, rooms with fireplaces or solid fuel stoves, boiler rooms.
- Commercial facilities: warehouses, garages, rooms with air conditioning or refrigerators, oil or gas boiler rooms.
- Vehicles: car and commercial vehicle cabins – monitoring CO2 levels to ensure the safety of the driver and passengers.
Design and product features
The DD-8R/AP detector is distinguished by its solid construction and a number of features that facilitate installation and operation:
- Replaceable sensor module: Allows for quick replacement of a damaged sensor without the need to replace the entire device, reducing maintenance costs.
- Built-in microprocessor: Ensures reliable operation, measurement stability, and temperature compensation – the influence of temperature on readings is minimized.
- Calibration: Standardly calibrated 3 alarm thresholds (A1/A2/A3). Recalibration is recommended every 3 years, and exceeding this period is signaled optically.
- Contact output: Designed to connect to an alarm system (NO and NC type), enabling a quick response in the event of a dangerous CO2 concentration.
- Signaling: Built-in optical and acoustic signaling informs about exceeding alarm thresholds. Acoustic signaling can be disabled.
- Mounting: Aesthetic white housing allows for wall mounting – both on the surface and in a flush-mounted box with a diameter of 60 mm.
- Power supply: 12V DC – compatible with most alarm systems.
GAZEX detectors are calibrated in their own Calibration Laboratory operating in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard (PCA accreditation No. AP150), which guarantees high measurement accuracy and result reliability.
