Propane-Butane Gas Detector – Safety and Reliability
This gas detector is designed to detect dangerous concentrations of propane-butane in enclosed spaces. The device signals exceeding two established alarm thresholds, ensuring a quick response in case of danger. The DEX-A15/N detector is a key element of the safety system in gas installations, both in residential and industrial buildings.
The detector works with various control modules, such as MDP-1.A/T, MDP-1 PLUS, MDD-1 or MD-1, providing great flexibility in configuring the entire gas detection system. The 4-20mA output allows integration with existing monitoring and control systems. The explosion-proof design allows its use even in potentially hazardous areas (zones 1 or 2 threatened by explosions of gases IIA, IIB or IIC).
Construction and application
The DEX-A15/N detector uses a semiconductor sensor to precisely measure the concentration of propane-butane in the range of 5–40% LEL (Lower Explosive Limit). The housing made of aluminum ensures durability and resistance to mechanical damage. The device is powered by the system, eliminating the need for batteries and ensuring continuous operation.
These types of detectors are used everywhere where there is a risk of propane-butane leakage:
- Gas installations in residential buildings: kitchens, boiler rooms, garages.
- Industrial facilities: production plants, workshops, laboratories.
- Warehouses and storage facilities: where gas cylinders or devices using propane-butane are stored.
- Vehicles: campers, caravans equipped with gas installations.
Features and benefits
- High sensitivity and accuracy: Semiconductor sensor provides precise gas concentration measurement.
- Two-stage signaling: Two alarm thresholds allow for a quick response to different levels of threat.
- Explosion-proof design: Can be used in hazardous areas (ATEX).
- Versatility: Compatibility with various control modules facilitates integration with existing systems.
- Durability: Aluminum housing provides resistance to mechanical damage and corrosion.
- Reliability: ATEX certificate confirms compliance with European safety standards.
- Simple installation: The device is easy to install and configure – just connect it to the appropriate control module.
- Long service life: Replaceable sensor modules allow for years of device operation without the need to replace the entire detector.
The device meets the requirements of Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX), which guarantees its safety and reliability in potentially explosive atmospheres. Remember to calibrate the sensor regularly to maintain measurement accuracy – you can entrust it to the manufacturer or an authorized service center.
