Gas detectors of the DG/M series – reliable protection against hazards
Digital gas detectors DG/M are devices designed for continuous monitoring of gas presence in rooms, providing a quick response in case of exceeding permissible norms. These detectors are used in industrial plants, logistics centers, public utility facilities, and everywhere where there is a risk of emission of toxic or explosive gases.
DG/M detectors are characterized by a modular design, allowing for easy sensor replacement – semiconductor, electrochemical, or optical. This construction facilitates maintenance, simplifies calibration, and reduces operating costs. These devices cooperate with the Digital Gas Detection System, transmitting information about gas concentration to the supervisory module via the RS-485 interface with the MODBUS RTU protocol.
Construction and functionality
DG/M detectors are not intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. They have a built-in microprocessor ensuring stable operation and semi-automatic addressing in the digital network. They are equipped with a thermal compensation circuit, alarm history, and removable screwless terminals facilitating connection of wires. A splash-proof ABS housing (IP44) provides resistance to environmental conditions. Two cable glands allow easy connection of subsequent detectors in the system. Alarm signaling is realized by means of LED diodes.
DG-0E.HCL/M model specifics
The DG-0E.HCL/M model is a detector designed for detecting hydrogen chloride (HCl). It uses an electrochemical sensor with high selectivity and measurement accuracy. Cross-sensitivity calibration (nds/ndsch) allows for compensation of the influence of other gases on the measurement result, although it may be associated with a slightly larger measurement error. It is worth remembering that the metrological readiness of the detector after switching on the power supply occurs after about 5 minutes (may be longer for some models). The sensor is resistant to momentary jumps in hydrogen chloride concentration, however, prolonged exposure to high concentrations may require calibration or sensor replacement.
Applications
The DG-0E.HCL/M detector is ideal for anywhere where there is a risk of hydrogen chloride emission:
- Chemical industry
- Plants using chlorine
- Laboratories
- Chemical warehouses
- Wastewater treatment plants
Standards and compliance
All GAZEX detectors are calibrated in their own Calibrating Laboratory operating in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard (PCA accreditation No. AP150), which guarantees their reliability and measurement accuracy.
