Gas detectors of the DG/M series – reliable monitoring of methane presence
Digital detectors DG/M are devices designed for continuous monitoring of gas concentrations in rooms. They serve to precisely measure the content of a given gas in the air, and in the event of exceeding defined thresholds, activate optical signaling and send information to the central supervisory module via the RS-485 network. These detectors are a key element of the Digital Gas Detection System, ensuring safety in industrial plants, logistics centers and public utility facilities.
Construction and application
DG/M detectors are characterized by a modular design, allowing for easy replacement of sensory modules – semiconductor, electrochemical or optical (Infra-Red). This feature significantly simplifies maintenance, calibration and reduces operating costs. These devices are ideal for use in large rooms exposed to emissions of toxic or explosive gases. However, it should be remembered that DG/M detectors have a standard construction and cannot be used in explosion-hazardous areas.
Key features and benefits
- RS-485 communication with MODBUS RTU protocol: Enables integration with automation systems and remote monitoring of detector status.
- Replaceable sensory modules: Provide flexibility in selecting a sensor for a specific application and facilitate servicing.
- Built-in microprocessor: Guarantees stable and reliable operation of the device and semi-automatic addressing in the digital network without the need to open the housing.
- Thermal compensation circuit: Compensates for the influence of temperature changes on readings, ensuring measurement accuracy even in variable environmental conditions.
- Alarm status history: Allows analysis of events and identification of potential problems.
- Splash-proof housing (IP44): Protects the device from moisture and ensures durability in harsh industrial conditions.
- Two cable glands: Facilitate connecting subsequent detectors in a network (through).
- Selective LED optical signaling: Clearly indicates the alarm status.
- Configuration possible via "DETnet View" software: Allows adaptation of detector settings to individual user needs.
- Calibration in an accredited GAZEX laboratory (PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025): Guarantees the accuracy and reliability of measurements.
The DG-12/M detector is dedicated to detecting methane in the range of 10/30% LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) using a semiconductor (p-p) sensor. This is a proven model that, thanks to its precision and reliability, finds wide application in many industries. The short response time of the detector results from the relatively fast permeability of gases through the sensor cover – important in dynamic changes in methane concentration.
The detector output is realized via a standard RS-485, and the alarm signaling is carried out using a built-in optical signal. The device is powered by 24V= and has dimensions of 110 x 140 x 55 mm.
