Methane detector – reliable protection against leaks

This gas detector, utilizing a semiconductor sensor, is designed for continuous monitoring of methane concentration in the air. The device signals exceeding permissible norms, which is crucial for safety in potentially hazardous locations. Thanks to its design and ability to cooperate with various control modules, it is a versatile solution for both professionals and individual users.

Application and functionality

The DG-14.EN-Nstd detector finds wide application in places where there is a risk of methane leakage, such as:

• utility rooms adjacent to boiler rooms;
• underground garages, including those for vehicles powered by LPG or CNG;
• vehicle inspection stations;
• production halls with potential gas emissions;
• rooms with air conditioning or heat pump equipment.

The device works with control modules MD-1.A/T, MD-1, MD-2, MD-4, MDP-1.A/T, MDP-1 PLUS, MDP-4, MDP-8, MDP-16 and addressable modules MDD-1, MDD-1/T and MDD-1x/T. This allows it to be easily integrated with existing alarm and control systems.

Design and user features

The detector is characterized by a solid construction and a number of features facilitating installation and operation:

• Replaceable sensor: Enables quick and inexpensive replacement of the measuring element without the need to replace the entire device.
• Built-in microprocessor: Ensures stable operation and temperature compensation of measurements.
• Two-state threshold outputs: Allow precise setting of alarm thresholds (factory set at 10% and 30% LEL).
• Optical signaling: Four LEDs inform about the device status and exceeding alarm thresholds.
• Splash-proof housing (IP43): Protects the device from moisture and ensures reliable operation in harsh conditions.
• TEST button: Allows easy checking of the functionality of the alarm outputs during installation and maintenance.
• Possibility of mounting the AR-1 cover: Protects the detector from mechanical damage in places exposed to vandalism or accidental impacts.

It is worth noting the compact dimensions of the detector (82 x 110 x 68 mm), which facilitate its installation even in limited space. The device is powered by the system, eliminating the need for additional batteries or power supplies. Additionally, the detectors are calibrated in their own laboratory GAZEX accredited in accordance with the standard PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 (accreditation PCA No. AP150), which guarantees high measurement accuracy.
