Methane detector DG-14/M-Nstd – a reliable monitoring system
This gas detector is designed for continuous monitoring of methane concentration in rooms, ensuring safety in industrial areas, warehouses, public buildings and other facilities requiring control of the presence of this gas. The device is part of the Digital Gas Detection System, offering reliable communication and a quick response to threats.
Construction and operation
The DG-14/M-Nstd detector uses a semiconductor methane sensor (MS-14/N), which is characterized by high selectivity and sensitivity. If the defined alarm thresholds are exceeded (10% and 30% LEL – Lower Explosive Limit), the detector signals an alarm state using a built-in LED optical indicator and sends information to the central supervisory module via the RS-485 interface with the MODBUS RTU protocol. The replaceable sensor module facilitates maintenance and calibration, reducing operating costs.
Advantages for the installer and user
- Fast response: Short gas permeability time through the sensor cover ensures rapid hazard detection.
- Flexibility: The ability to select sensors for specific applications allows the detector to be adapted to specific needs.
- Easy installation and configuration: Thanks to screwless removable terminals and the ability to address in a digital network without opening the housing, installation is simple and intuitive. Configuration of settings is done using the dedicated "DETnet View" software.
- Reliability: The built-in microprocessor ensures stable operation and recording of alarm history. The thermal compensation system minimizes the impact of temperature changes on measurement accuracy.
- Durable construction: Splash-proof housing made of high-impact ABS (IP44) protects the device from mechanical damage and moisture. Two cable glands facilitate connecting subsequent detectors in the system.
- Calibration: Detectors are factory calibrated in an accredited GAZEX Calibration Laboratory (in accordance with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025), which guarantees measurement accuracy.
Technical specifications
The device is powered by 24V DC. Its compact dimensions (110 x 140 x 55 mm) allow for easy mounting in various locations. Communication is via the RS-485 standard, enabling integration with existing gas monitoring systems. The built-in LED optical indicator provides immediate information about the threat status.
