Gas detector DG-15/M – reliable safety in propane-butane detection

The DG-15/M gas detector is an advanced device designed for continuous monitoring of propane-butane concentration in the air. It reacts quickly to a threat, informing about exceeding permissible norms both visually and via a signal sent to the central supervisory module. This ensures effective protection in industrial plants, logistics centers, public utility facilities and other large rooms where there is a risk of gas leakage.

Functionality and application

The DG-15/M detector is an element of the GAZEX Digital Gas Detection System, enabling the construction of comprehensive monitoring systems. Its main task is to early detect dangerous concentrations of propane-butane (in the range of 10/30% LEL), which allows for a quick response and minimization of the risk of fire or explosion. The device finds application wherever continuous control of the presence of explosive gases is required – from production halls to warehouses and boiler rooms.

Construction and characteristic features

The DG-15/M detector is characterized by a modular design, which facilitates its servicing and adaptation to individual needs. The replaceable sensor module allows for quick replacement of a damaged element or a change in the detection type. Additionally:

• RS485 communication: Enables integration with building automation systems and central supervisory systems using the MODBUS RTU protocol.
• High reliability: Built-in microprocessor ensures stable operation and semi-automatic addressing in the digital network.
• Thermal compensation: Thermal compensation system minimizes the impact of temperature changes on measurement accuracy.
• Alarm history: The detector's memory stores the history of alarm states, which facilitates the analysis of the causes of failures.
• Splash-proof housing (IP44): Provides protection against moisture and dust, allowing installation in difficult environmental conditions.
• Easy mounting: Two cable glands facilitate connecting subsequent detectors in the network.
• Software configuration: Detector settings can be easily configured using the dedicated "DETnet View" software.
• Calibration: All detectors are calibrated in their own GAZEX Calibrating Laboratory accredited in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard.

The device is powered by 24V= voltage and its dimensions are 110 x 140 x 55 mm. However, remember that the DG-15/M detector should not be used in places exposed to the explosion of gases, vapors or dusts – it is a device of conventional construction.
