Gas detectors of the DG/M series – reliable control of methane presence
The DG/M series gas detectors are devices designed for continuous monitoring of methane concentration in various environments. They utilize a catalytic sensor, which is characterized by high sensitivity and selectivity in detecting this specific gas. The DG-1KL4/M model is calibrated to measure within the range of 10-30% Lower Explosive Limit (LEL), making it suitable for applications in industrial plants, logistics centers, and public utility facilities.
Functionality and communication
The DG-1KL4/M detector offers communication via the RS-485 port with the MODBUS RTU protocol, enabling integration with digital gas detection systems. This allows for remote monitoring of the detector's status, reading measurements, and configuring operating parameters. The built-in microprocessor ensures stable operation and reliability, and the thermal compensation circuit minimizes the impact of temperature changes on measurement accuracy. Additionally, the detector has a history of alarm states, which facilitates event analysis and identification of potential hazards.
Construction and mounting
The device is enclosed in a splash-proof housing made of high-impact ABS (IP44), providing protection against moisture and mechanical damage. Two cable glands facilitate connecting subsequent detectors to the network, and removable screwless terminals allow for convenient connection of wires. It should be remembered that DG/M detectors are devices of ordinary construction and cannot be used in places where there is a risk of gas or dust explosions. It is also worth mentioning the possibility of expanding functionality with an optional output module (DG/MR version) or an additional mechanical guard (AR-1d). The detectors are factory calibrated according to the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard by the accredited GAZEX laboratory (PCA No. AP150), which guarantees the accuracy and reliability of measurements.
