Gas detectors of the DG/MR series – reliable protection against hazards
The DG/MR gas detectors are devices designed for continuous monitoring of gas presence in rooms, ensuring safety in industrial plants, logistics centers, and public facilities. Monitoring is carried out by measuring the gas concentration in the surrounding air. If defined alarm values are exceeded, the detector signals the hazard visually and via built-in relays, and also transmits information to the digital supervisory module via the RS-485 network.
These advanced detectors work with the Digital Gas Detection System, offering a comprehensive solution for monitoring and alarming. A key element is the replaceable sensor module – semiconductor, electrochemical, or optical (Infra-Red) – which simplifies maintenance, calibration, and reduces operating costs. Replacing the module allows you to adapt the detector to specific application needs and the type of gas detected.
Construction and application
The DG/MR detectors are devices with a standard construction, therefore they cannot be used in areas with a risk of explosion of gases, vapors, or dust. They are used in large rooms where there is a risk of emission of toxic or explosive gases, with locally controlled signaling devices. Thanks to the RS-485 communication with the MODBUS RTU protocol, integration with existing monitoring systems is simple and effective. Two alarm thresholds or measurement mode (for electrochemical and Infra-Red sensors) allow for precise adjustment of the detector's operation to specific working conditions.
Advantages and benefits
- Replaceable sensor module: Enables quick replacement of a damaged sensor and adaptation of the detector to different applications without the need to replace the entire device.
- RS-485 communication: Provides reliable data transmission to the supervisory system, enabling remote monitoring and control.
- Two alarm thresholds: Allow setting different warning levels, which increases safety and allows for an appropriate response to the hazard.
- Built-in relays: Enable direct control of external devices, such as acoustic signaling devices or ventilation systems.
- Thermal compensation: Ensures measurement stability regardless of changes in ambient temperature.
- Alarm history: Facilitates analysis of the causes of alarms and improvement of safety in the future.
- Semi-automatic addressing: Simplifies the configuration of the detector network without the need to open the housing.
- Screwless terminals: Facilitate and speed up the installation of wires.
- Possibility of equipping with an additional cover: Increases resistance to mechanical damage and weather conditions (optional).
- Calibration in an accredited laboratory: Guarantees the accuracy and reliability of measurements (compliance with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard).
The DG-31/MR detector is particularly recommended for detecting organic compounds in the concentration range of 20/40% OEL, using a semiconductor sensor (p-p). This is a solid solution for installers looking for reliable equipment and for end-users who value safety and comfort of use. Detector settings are configured using the dedicated "DETnet View" software.
