Gas detector – reliable monitoring of organic compounds

This gas detector is designed for continuous monitoring of organic compound concentrations in the air. The device, based on an optical sensor (Infra-Red), informs about exceeding permissible norms via a built-in optical signaling system and transmits data to a central monitoring system via RS-485 communication. This is a solid solution for ensuring safety in industrial plants, logistics centers and public facilities.

Construction and functionality

The DG-3R/M-Nstd detector is an element of the GAZEX Digital Gas Detection System. Its construction is based on an interchangeable sensor module, which facilitates maintenance and reduces operating costs. Replacing the module allows for quick calibration or adaptation of the device to other needs – without the need to replace the entire detector. Communication takes place via the RS-485 port with the MODBUS RTU protocol, ensuring easy integration with existing automation and monitoring systems. A built-in microprocessor ensures stable operation and semi-automatic addressing in the digital network.

Technical specifications

The DG-3R/M-Nstd detector operates at 24V DC and is characterized by compact dimensions (110 x 140 x 55 mm). The optical sensor (Infra-Red) allows for measuring the concentration of organic compounds in the range of 20/40/(50)% LEL (Lower Explosive Limit). Standard alarm thresholds are 20% and 40%, and the maximum measurement range is 50% LEL. The device has a selective LED optical signaling system, informing about exceeding the alarm concentration thresholds of the gas. Power is supplied by 24V DC.
