Gas detectors – reliable protection in industrial plants and beyond
The DG/M series digital detectors are devices designed for continuous monitoring of gas presence in rooms. Their task is to measure the concentration of a given gas in the air and, in the event of exceeding defined thresholds, activate optical signaling and transmit information to the central supervisory module via the RS-485 network. These detectors are used in industrial plants, logistics centers, public utility facilities, and anywhere there is a risk of toxic gas emissions.
Construction and operating principle
DG/M detectors are characterized by a modular design, allowing the replacement of sensory modules – semiconductor, electrochemical, or optical. This construction facilitates maintenance, simplifies calibration, and reduces operating costs. These devices work with the Digital Gas Detection System, providing a comprehensive solution for monitoring gas hazards. The built-in microprocessor guarantees stable operation and semi-automatic addressing in the digital network without the need to open the housing. Additionally, the detectors have a thermal compensation circuit and a history of alarm states.
Application and user features
The DG-41/M detector is designed to detect ammonia in the concentration range of 500/1500 ppm. It uses a semiconductor sensor (p-p), which ensures a quick response to changes in gas concentration. Communication is via the RS-485 port with the MODBUS RTU protocol, enabling easy integration with existing control and monitoring systems. The splash-proof housing (IP44) made of high-impact ABS protects the device from external factors. Two cable glands facilitate connecting subsequent detectors to the network. Additionally, the detector has selective LED optical signaling informing about the alarm state. The device is factory calibrated in its own GAZEX Calibrating Laboratory accredited in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard (PCA No. AP150), which guarantees measurement accuracy.
Replaceable sensory module: Enables quick replacement of a damaged sensor or adaptation to another type of gas.
RS-485 communication: Provides easy integration with automation and monitoring systems.
Optical signaling: Clear information about exceeding permissible gas concentrations.
Splash-proof housing: Protection against moisture and dust (IP44).
Calibration standards: Guarantee of measurement accuracy thanks to calibration in an accredited laboratory.
Thermal compensation: Measurement stability regardless of ambient temperature.
Alarm history: Enables analysis of events and identification of potential problems.
DG/M detectors are not intended for use in areas at risk of explosion of gases, vapors, or dusts – these are devices of conventional construction.
