Gas Detectors – Reliable Protection Against Hazards
Digital detectors of the DG/M series, including the DG-4E1/M model designed for ammonia detection, are a key element of safety systems in industrial plants, logistics centers, and public utility facilities. These devices continuously monitor gas concentrations in the air, providing a quick response in case of exceeding permissible levels. The DG-4E1/M detector, thanks to the use of an electrochemical sensor, offers high measurement accuracy even in difficult environmental conditions – from -40°C.
Design and Operating Principle
DG/M detectors work with a digital gas detection system, transmitting information about ammonia concentration via an RS-485 network with the MODBUS RTU protocol. In case of an alarm, optical signaling is activated and information is sent to the supervisory module. A replaceable sensor module facilitates maintenance and calibration, reducing operating costs. It is worth emphasizing that these detectors have a thermal compensation circuit, which ensures stable measurements regardless of the ambient temperature. Thanks to the built-in microprocessor, addressing in the digital network is semi-automatic, without the need to open the housing.
Application and Benefits
The DG-4E1/M detector is used wherever there is a risk of ammonia leakage – from industrial cooling towers to artificial fertilizer production plants. Its splash-proof housing (IP44) provides resistance to moisture and dust, and two cable glands facilitate connecting subsequent detectors to the network. Thanks to the possibility of equipping with an additional cover (AR-1d) or a ventilation duct housing (DG/w), the range of applications is even wider. All GAZEX detectors are calibrated in their own Accredited Calibration Laboratory according to PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 (PCA accreditation no. AP150), which guarantees their reliability and measurement accuracy. For installers, this means confidence in the proper functioning of the system and compliance with applicable regulations.
