Gas detectors of the DG/MR series – reliable protection against hazards

The DG/MR gas detectors are devices designed for continuous monitoring of gas presence in various environments – from industrial plants and logistics centers to public utility facilities. Their task is to measure the gas concentration in the air and activate an alarm signal when permissible levels are exceeded. This ensures the safety of employees and protects installations from potential damage.

Functionality and application

DG-5E/MR detectors, equipped with an electrochemical sensor, are particularly effective in detecting hydrogen sulfide (H2S). The alarm signal is realized optically, and information about exceeding the concentration is transmitted to the digital supervisory module via the RS-485 network. This allows for central monitoring and rapid response in the event of a hazard. These devices are used wherever there is a risk of emission of toxic or explosive gases.

Construction and characteristic features

A key element of the DG/MR detectors is the replaceable sensor module. This enables easy maintenance, simplified calibration and reduced operating costs – only the used sensor needs to be replaced instead of the entire device. The detectors have two alarm thresholds or can operate in measurement mode, and the built-in relays with adjustable thresholds increase configuration flexibility. In addition, the detectors are characterized by:

• RS-485 communication with MODBUS RTU protocol – enables integration with automation and monitoring systems.
• Built-in NO/NC relays – provide independent control of external devices.
• Possibility of semi-automatic addressing in a digital network – facilitates installation and configuration of multiple detectors.
• Screwless terminals – simplify wire connection.
• Two cable glands – allow easy connection of subsequent detectors in the system.
• Configuration using the dedicated "DETnet View" software – provides full control over the device's operating parameters.
• Calibration in their own GAZEX Accredited Calibration Laboratory (PCA accreditation No. AP150) - guarantees measurement accuracy and compliance with standards.

It is important to remember that DG/MR detectors are devices with a conventional construction and cannot be used in areas with a risk of explosion of gases, vapors or dust. The supply voltage of these devices is 24V=. The dimensions of the detector are 110 x 140 x 55 mm.
