Gas detectors of the DG/F series – reliable SF6 monitoring

DG/F gas detectors are devices designed for continuous monitoring of gas concentrations in various industrial and public utility environments. The DG-6R7/M-SF6 model, equipped with an optical sensor (Infra-Red), is dedicated to precise measurement of SF6 concentration in the range of 500-1500 ppm. This is a key solution to ensure safety and efficient operation of high-voltage installations, where SF6 is widely used as an insulator.

Application and functionality

The DG-6R7/M-SF6 detector, thanks to the use of an Infra-Red sensor, is characterized by high selectivity and stability of SF6 measurements. The device is designed to cooperate with the GAZEX digital gas detection system, enabling integration with a central supervision and alarm system. If defined concentration thresholds are exceeded, the detector signals an alarm optically and sends information to the supervisory module via the RS-485 interface with the MODBUS RTU protocol.

These detectors are used in:

Construction and user features

The device is distinguished by a solid construction based on a high-impact ABS housing (IP44), which ensures resistance to mechanical damage and moisture. The replaceable sensor module facilitates maintenance, calibration and reduces operating costs. Additional features include:

• RS-485 communication with MODBUS RTU protocol – enables easy integration with control and monitoring systems;
• built-in microprocessor – ensures reliability and stability of operation;
• thermal compensation circuit – minimizes the impact of temperature changes on measurement accuracy;
• alarm history – facilitates analysis of the causes of failures;
• removable screwless terminals – simplify mounting and connection of wires;
• two cable glands – allow easy connection of subsequent detectors in a network;
• possibility of equipping with an additional mechanical guard (AR-1d) or a ventilation duct housing (DG/w) - optional;
• possibility of expanding with a relay output module (DG/MR) - optional;
• configuration using dedicated "DETnet View" software.

It is worth remembering that DG/F detectors have a conventional construction and cannot be used in potentially explosive atmospheres. All detectors are calibrated in their own GAZEX Accredited Calibration Laboratory according to PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard (PCA accreditation No. AP150).
