Gas detector DG-73/MR hydrogen (selective), 10/30% LEL, p-p sensor

Gas detectors – reliable safety in industry and public utility facilities

Gas detectors of the DG/MR series are devices designed for continuous monitoring of gas presence in rooms. Their task is to measure the gas concentration in the air and activate an alarm if permissible norms are exceeded. The alarm signal is realized optically, and information about the exceedance is transmitted to the digital supervisory module via the RS-485 network. These detectors work perfectly in industrial plants, logistics centers, public utility facilities, and large rooms where there is a risk of emission of toxic or explosive gases.

Construction and functionality

A key element of DG/MR detectors is the replaceable sensor module – semiconductor, electrochemical, or optical (Infra-Red). This design facilitates maintenance, calibration, and reduces operating costs. The devices are equipped with two alarm thresholds or measurement mode (depending on the sensor used) and two relays with NO/NC contacts on a removable board. Communication is via the RS-485 port with the MODBUS RTU protocol, enabling integration with monitoring and control systems. Additionally, the detectors have a thermal compensation circuit, alarm status history, and the possibility of semi-automatic addressing in the digital network.

Specifics of the DG-73/MR model – hydrogen detection

The DG-73/MR model is a detector designed for selective hydrogen detection in the concentration range of 10/30% LEL (Lower Explosive Limit). It uses a semiconductor (p-p) sensor, which is characterized by a fast response time and high sensitivity. Thanks to the sensor's selectivity, the device minimizes the risk of false alarms caused by the presence of other gases. This detector finds application wherever there is a risk of hydrogen leakage – e.g., in installations producing or using hydrogen as fuel, chemical laboratories, or hydrogen refueling stations.

  • Replaceable sensor module: Allows for quick replacement of a damaged sensor or adaptation of the detector to other needs.
  • RS-485 communication: Provides easy integration with monitoring and control systems.
  • Two relays: Allow connection of acoustic or visual signaling devices and activation of other safety devices.
  • Thermal compensation circuit: Ensures measurement stability regardless of ambient temperature.
  • Hydrogen selectivity: Minimizes the risk of false alarms caused by other gases.
  • Configuration via DETnet View software: Allows easy adaptation of the detector parameters to specific application requirements (available on the Gazex website).
  • Calibration in the GAZEX Accredited Calibration Laboratory: Guarantees measurement accuracy and reliability (PCA accreditation No. AP150).

DG/MR detectors are not intended for use in areas threatened by the explosion of gases, vapors, or dusts – these are devices of conventional construction.
