Gas detectors – reliable safety in any environment
Detectors from the DG/M series are advanced devices designed for continuous monitoring of gas presence in various spaces – from industrial plants and logistics centers to public utility facilities. Their task is to measure the gas concentration in the air and to react immediately in case of exceeding permissible norms, signaled both visually and by transmitting information to the central supervision system. These detectors find application everywhere where ensuring safety and atmosphere control is crucial.
Design and operating principle
DG/M detectors are based on replaceable sensor modules – semiconductor, electrochemical or optical (Infra-Red) – which provides flexibility in selecting the appropriate sensor for a specific application. The replaceability of sensor modules is not only convenient during maintenance, but also simplifies the calibration process and reduces operating costs. These devices communicate via the RS-485 port with the MODBUS RTU protocol, enabling integration with digital gas detection systems. Alarm signaling is carried out using a built-in LED optical signaling system.
DG/M detectors are designed to work in a Digital Gas Detection System and must not be used in areas exposed to explosion hazards of gases, vapors or dusts.
Specification and application of the DG-8R/M model
The DG-8R/M model is a carbon dioxide (CO2) detector equipped with an Infra-Red optical sensor, designed to measure CO2 concentration in the range of 0.5 – 1.5 %v/v. Thanks to the use of Infra-Red technology, the detector is characterized by high selectivity and measurement accuracy. This device is ideal for anywhere where controlling CO2 levels is crucial for ensuring safety and comfort – e.g. in rooms with a large number of people, ventilation systems or cooling towers. The built-in microprocessor ensures stable operation and semi-automatic addressing in the digital network without the need to open the housing. The detector is powered by 24V= voltage and its dimensions are 110 x 140 x 55 mm. The housing made of high-impact ABS provides resistance to mechanical damage and splash protection (IP44).

The DG-8R/M detector has removable screwless terminals allowing the connection of two FTP cables. The device has a thermal compensation system ensuring stable measurements even under variable environmental conditions and an alarm history facilitating event analysis. Detector settings are configured using the dedicated "DETnet View" software.
